Perchance to Dream

As FPBR employees, we know the importance of the Trend Being Alive. Our health and wellness are crucial if we want to keep up the stringent schedules following trends demands. We are constantly checking out new diets, shifting our exercise routines and trying new supplements in an effort to be more alive. But there is one health factor that time and time again seems to be the determining factor in a healthy life: Sleep.

Even though we all have to do it every day (or so) we still don’t manage to get enough sleep. Recent studies have linked sleep deprivation with everything from obesity to trouble committing new information to memory.

There is evidence that sleep is one of the largest contributing factors to mental as well as physical health. Lack of sleep causes a deficit of serotonin which can cause or exacerbate depression and anxiety. Cardiovascular health, an active metabolism and a functioning auto-immune system are all benefits of a healthy sleep cycle. Studies have even shown that sleep has a direct correlation with how long you will live.

While it is clear that a good night’s sleep is a crucial part of your personal wellness plan, it is often easier said than done. Insomnia and other sleep disorders are on the rise fueled by an environment and society that demand our attention earlier and later every day and night.
